That’s a gif my friend Adam made when he came to see a talk in Washington D.C.
Here are some radio pieces I’ve made and loved:
“Hollaback Girl” for This American Life — interviewing the men who catcalled me and trying to persuade them to stop.
“Here’s Looking At You, Kid” for This American Life — A piece about high-stakes doubt, centring on Nicole, a woman who doubted her childhood memory of being abused. Includes forensic tapes I was able to make public for the first time in the case’s 30-year history. Appears in the New Yorker here.
“The Age of Reason and Conspiracy” - In conversation with Slavoj Žižek about the legacy of the enlightenment, for the Festival of Dangerous Ideas.
“How to Be Perfect” - Interviewing Mike Schur, creator of The Good Place, about moral striving and the good life.
From 2016-2017 I produced and presented for The Philosopher’s Zone on ABC Radio National. In 2020 I worked with The Ethics Centre in Australia to produce Little Bad Thing, a podcast about the things we wish we hadn’t done. It won the 2021 AAP Media Prize.
